The health system in the Sultanate of Oman has adopted the policy of comprehensive health coverage as a fundamental principle to achieve the goal of health for all. The senior leadership in the Sultanate of Oman has committed politically to ensuring that health is a right for every citizen, guaranteeing access to basic health services without financial hardship. In order to achieve this goal, the Directorate General of Health Services in Musandam Governorate has sought to enhance both basic and specialized health care services in the region. This effort reflects their primary role in preserving and protecting citizens' health, addressing disease challenges, keeping pace with health changes and developments, ensuring optimal resource use, and continuously seeking sustainable financing alternatives for the health sector. The Directorate General of Health Services in Musandam Governorate, represented by all its health institutions and workers, affirms its commitment to providing high-quality health care. The aim is to achieve the best possible health status for the community, creating a society with high-quality and sustainable health. This commitment is guided by the fundamental values and principles that regulate operations across various health facilities and institutions. These include professionalism, teamwork, patient and worker safety, and promoting creativity and innovation in health service delivery to ensure integrity, transparency, and justice. Finally, the health services in Musandam Governorate are dedicated to developing health plans that meet community needs, reinforcing the principle of providing comprehensive and equitable health care. This commitment highlights the responsibility of all health providers, including those from the private sector, other government institutions, and civil society organizations, to enhance partnership values and social responsibility. Directorate General of Health Services in Musandam Governorate

The health policy in the Sultanate of Oman pays special attention providing health services and fairness in the distribution of health services. Every member of social has the ability to access health care services, regardless of social and economic status and geographical location. The government is committed to providing a high level of health services to all segments of society, facilitating access to them and working to reduce the disparities to the minimum possible in the service equations for the population between villages, wilayat and governorates, taking into account the participation of all sectors in providing health services.

Musandam Governorate is considered one of the border governorates with a mountainous and marine geographical nature. Therefore, the Ministry of Health is keen to provide basic health care services in all governorates. The Wilayat of Khasab is considered the regional center of Musandam Governorate and has specialized secondary health services to facilitate access to health services for all citizens and residents.

The Ministry of Health seeks to enhance the decentralization of services in the governorates represented by the General Directorate of Health Services in the governorate, by managing and following up on all administrative operations and procedures and directing those concerned to conduct field visits to health institutions in the governorate on an ongoing basis. The central authorities in the ministry also supervise and follow up on the progress of providing health services in the governorates; To identify the needs of this governorate with the aim of developing health services and achieving citizens’ aspirations, and improving work in all health institutions. The Ministry of Health provides various health services (promotional, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative) to all citizens through a group of health institutions located in the various governorate wilayat. There is a regional hospital, a specialized health complex, (2) local hospitals and (3) health centers.
