Sultan Qaboos hospital (SQH) is a secondary care hospital located in the Dhofar state. The hospital was established in the glorious era of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in “1976” and currently the hospital occupies approximately 515 beds (include cardiac center). The hospital received annually an average of 63332 patients in adult emergency, 48692 patients in pediatrics emergency room and 7212 patients in obstetric emergency room. Moreover an average of 27779 admissions and 278861 visited to its Outpatient. SQH provides multidisciplinary secondary healthcare services to Dhofar population; these services include internal medicine covering: (Neurology, Neuro-physiology, Nephrology, Chest, Endocrine, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Psychiatric, Dermatology and infectious disease). General Surgery which include: (Neuro surgery, Orthopedic, Plastic, Urology, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Dental and ENT). The hospital also provide the Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric Medicine ,Pediatric Surgery, Accidents and Emergency For Adult And Pediatric, Adult And Pediatric Intensive Care Units, Dentistry, Radiology ,Laboratories, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, Cardiology (Adult- Pediatrics ), Cardiothoracic (Adult). The hospital also provides other supportive services that contribute to promote quality and patient safety such as Nursing & Midwifery Service, Quality and patient safety, Health Information system, Pharmacy &Medical Supply, Training & Staff Development.
