Sur Hospital training and professional department is considered an essential element in developing knowledge, skills and attitudes of the whole medical and administration personnel to guarantee a high quality services. Since the 2007 T&PDD started manage all the educational activities of the hospital where by a plan is prepared to show the achievement and plan of action of the next year which are based on need assessment. Some of activities conducted by T&PDD BLS, ACLS and IV therapy. Most of Sur Hospital educational activities are accredited by OMSB.

The AL-Shifa Data Base (HIMS) facilitates the physicians and other health care providers to record the patient's information interact within the department, see the investigation result online and do much more. This help to maintain proper documentation to all. The responsibility to maintain the systems (24*7) in working order lies on this department. This department is amalgamated with the department of medical records, sending and receiving fax from other hospital, sending appointments to patients, inpatient coding, filing, assembling, providing medical report, A&E registration and opening visit etc.

The engineering department comprises trade disciplines such as electrical, biomedical and civil engineering responsible for repairs, planned maintenance, safe functioning of all equipment directly associated with patient care ranging from simple stethoscope to sophisticated C.T Scanner X-Ray, Lab and Operating Theatre equipment etc. and those which are in service areas such as CSSD, Lund ray and Kitchen. The department olso ensures basic needs of hospital such as HVAC system, water, electricity and medical gases besides taking care of office equipments, communication systems, medical and general furniture. In the past decades, a radical change in the patterns of disease and its spread among members of the community from infectious diseases to chronic diseases, especially diseases that are expressed in disease life style diseases such as pressure, heart, diabetes, and many of these diseases are the result of the erratic behavior Hence, health education is the cornerstone of for the prevention of these diseases, it is the first health promotion activities in which it is upgrading the knowledge and information and building trends and changing health behaviors. Our belief in the need for concerted efforts and based on the policy of the Ministry of Health of the link between the various disciplines and raise the efficiency of efficiency and productivity has been the introduction of the Department of Education and Health Information Sur hospital on 9/15/2012 as the first section in the Sultanate to support health education among citizens and residents.
