South Al Batinah Health Organizes Awareness Event to Mark World Malaria Day
Under the patronage of Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al Shukaili, Director General of Health Services in South Al Batinah, the Directorate of Disease Surveillance and Control, represented by the Vector Surveillance Section, organized an awareness event to mark World Malaria Day.
The event featured an educational exhibition with several informative booths highlighting malaria, its modes of transmission, ongoing control efforts, and recent advances in prevention and vector control strategies. A dedicated booth also focused on the diagnosis and treatment of malaria in accordance with the latest clinical practices.
The event aimed to raise community awareness and showcase the field efforts of vector surveillance teams in monitoring and controlling disease-carrying mosquitoes, underscoring the importance of coordinated public health efforts in sustaining malaria control achievements.
During the event, Ms. Iman bint Salem Al Balushi, Head of the Infection Prevention and Control Section at the Directorate, delivered an educational presentation covering key information about malaria, including its symptoms, transmission, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
