Training Workshop on Managing Pregnancy and Childbirth Emergencies

01 April 2026

The Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, represented by the Reproductive Health Section, conducted a specialized training workshop entitled “Managing Emergencies During Pregnancy and Childbirth” as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the preparedness of healthcare professionals and enhance their capacity to respond effectively to critical maternal emergencies.

The workshop featured a combination of theoretical lectures and intensive hands-on training, focusing on rapid and effective clinical pathways for managing the most common obstetric emergencies, including antepartum and postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, and preeclampsia.

The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of physicians and nurses in the early identification and effective management of these conditions, contributing to the reduction of maternal and fetal risks and complications while improving the quality of healthcare provided during this critical stage.

The workshop was attended by physicians and general nurses from healthcare complexes and primary healthcare centers across the governorate. The program combined theoretical instruction with practical simulation to ensure participants gained hands-on skills and confidence in emergency management.

This workshop forms part of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health’s continuous efforts to strengthen professional competencies and improve emergency preparedness, recognizing the vital role of reproductive health in achieving better health outcomes for women and children.
