Her Highness the Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahd bint Abdullah bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan, graciously presided over the official opening ceremony of Khasab Hospital today. This project comes as part of the State’s ongoing efforts to develop the health sector, strengthen the healthcare system, and provide advanced medical services to citizens and residents of Musandam Governorate.

Upon Her Highness’s arrival at Khasab Hospital, folk art troupes from Musandam Governorate performed a selection of traditional Omani heritage arts, expressing joy and pride at the hospital’s honour of receiving her gracious visit. Her Highness also viewed a welcoming performance presented by students from the governorate’s schools in celebration of this special occasion.

Her Highness was received by His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health; His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam; Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education; and Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, along with a number of senior officials.

Following that, Her Highness unveiled the commemorative plaque, marking the official inauguration of Khasab Hospital. Project officials presented a brief overview of the hospital’s medical capabilities and equipment, praising the efforts exerted to complete this healthcare landmark, which was designed and constructed according to the highest technical standards to meet the governorate’s needs for integrated medical services and healthcare.

Her Highness also viewed a visual presentation outlining the hospital’s readiness, the current status of health services in Musandam Governorate, and the approved development plans aimed at enhancing the level of healthcare.

During her tour of the hospital’s departments, Her Highness listened to an explanation of the functions of each unit. The hospital includes several specialized medical departments, among them: the Day Care Clinic, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Dialysis Unit, Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Burns Unit, Operating Theatres and Intensive Care, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Laboratories, and Sterilization, in addition to a Training and Development Center and various administrative and support service departments.

During the visit, Her Highness met with members of the medical and administrative staff and expressed her deep appreciation for their efforts in delivering healthcare services. She affirmed her pride in the dedication demonstrated by those working in this sector in service of the community and commended their role in advancing the quality of healthcare in Musandam Governorate.

At the conclusion of the visit, Her Highness recorded a commemorative message in the guestbook to mark her visit to Musandam Governorate and the official inauguration of Khasab Hospital.

The opening ceremony was attended by several ministers, senior officials, and a gathering of dignitaries and notable figures from Musandam Governorate.
