H.E. Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz, Minister of Public Health in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and his accompanying delegation visited recently a number of health institutions in the Governorate of Dhofar, as part of his participation in the Ministerial Meeting "The Road to the Universal Health Coverage in the Eastern Mediterranean Region", which took place in Salalah.

In order to identify the primary healthcare services, the Afghan Minister visited Al-Dahariz Health Center and met the medical staff and outpatients. During the visit, the Minister briefed on the Center's facilities, progress of work and the ways to receiving and referring patients.

The Minister visited also the National Heart Center in Salalah and briefed on the Center's facilities, operations theater and ICUs in addition to detailed explanation on patients care before, during and after heart operations.

Dr. Ferozuddin expressed his admiration to the progress of the health services in the Sultanate, as well as the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health to develop and outreach the primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services throughout the Sultanate.
