Al Nahdha Hospital Emergency Evacuation Workshop
The Directorate General of Health Services at the Governorate of Muscat represented by the Department of Emergency & Crises organized today Sunday a workshop on Al Nahdha Hospital Evacuation. The two-day workshop was held at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque with the presence of H.E. Hilal Hamad Al Sarmi, Member of Al Shura’ Council, Representative of A’Seeb.
The workshop was arranged considering the hospital construction circumstances that resulted in encountering many difficulties when evacuation is demanded during any emergency occurrences.
the workshop targeted sub-committees and the Directorate’s Emergency and Crises teams of the health institutions, in addition to some government authorities which would be involved in the evacuation process.
The two-day workshop aimed at strengthening the relations between the health institutions and other institutions to reach the desired results with the least material and population losses. It aimed at maintaining the best results to achieve the national vision in dealing with crises (Oman is prepared).
The workshop included an overview of safety and security at Al Nahdha hospital and the evacuation plan. It introduced the Medical and Public Health Responses Sector. Moreover, two working papers were presented on Sultan Qaboos University hospital experiences for ACI standard and requirements, and the public and population health during disaster.
The number of participants reached 40 employees from MOH health institutions and other health establishments.
