Al-Saidi Chairs World Health Assembly Meetings
On the sidelines of the 69th World Health Assembly (WHA) meeting chaired by the Sultanate which began today (Monday) in Geneva, H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health chaired recently the Health Ministers Meeting for the Eastern Mediterranean Region for the World Health Organization (WHO).
The meeting discussed the health issues related to the individuals and community, as well as exchanged views on the modern challenges in the health affairs.
In addition, Dr. al-Saidi met with Dr. Margret Chan, WHO Director General. In which Dr. Chan congratulated Dr. al-Saidi for his position as the chairman of the current session of the WHA. She also praised the significant health progress in the Sultanate, as well as the Sultanate’s concern for the health issues at the regional and international levels.
In the same context, Dr. al-Saidi met also with the Chinese health minister. During the meeting, the two sides addressed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the means of developing them in the field of health.
The meeting also discussed the views on the importance of exchanging experiences and medical staff in various branches of medicine and the participation in medical seminars and conferences held in both countries in order to strengthening the cooperation and exchanging visits between specialists.
