H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health chaired on Thursday  at the Ministry of Health (MOH) headquarters a periodical meeting attended by the MOH undersecretaries, the directors general of health services in the governorates and the executive directors of hospitals along with number of senior officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees and pointed out that this meeting comes within the periodical and consultative meetings aimed at polled the opinions of the health leaderships in the Sultanate’s Governorates on the health system.

The meeting highlighted a number of issues especially the quality of services, patient safety, rationalization of expenditure and alternatives for health financing.

It also included a presentation on the role of the Quality Assurance Center (QAC) presented by Dr. Ahmed bin Salim al-Manthari, QAC Director General. Dr. al-Manthari stressed that the services of the Center came to meet the current needs of the health system and what the next stage requires in light of the population and urban growth, as well as the variation in the diseases map and health indicators.

Thereafter, the Minister discussed with the officials number of health, administrative and technical issues that related to the health services.

At the end of the meeting, al-Saidi addressed to the necessity of cooperation among all for the sake of the country.

It is worth to mention that this kind of meeting held twice a year in order to shed the light on various health issues.
