Five MOH’s Directorates General Granted ISO 9001/2015 Certification
The Ministry of Health obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The recognition included a number of Directorates General namely are Directorate General for Administrative Affairs, Directorate General for Financial Affairs, Directorate General of Pharmaceutical affairs and Drug Control, Directorate General of Private Health Establishments, and the Directorate General of Projects and Engineering Affairs.
This recognition highlights the ministry’s keenness in developing the provided health services in order to achieve a pioneering health system with global standards characterized by decentralization and quality. It further proves the MOH’s commitment in improving performance and developing foundations for the continuous development and the ability to provide services that consistently meet customer requirements in line with Oman Vision 2040 in improving ministerial government services.
The MOH’s Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center has consistently prepared the recent ISO-certified DGs during the two-year project implementation phase, starting at the end of 2018 with analyzing the gap and measuring the standards status of the DGs. The project passed through many steps including operations documentation, quality document development, internal auditing and management review, to reach to the final auditing for obtaining the international certificate.
(50) Personnel were trained as internal auditors and 9 were qualified as chief auditors of the ISO 9001/2015 system to continue improving the system and achieving the objective of obtaining this international recognition certificate by all the Ministry’s central directorates in the future.
H.E. Dr. Fatima Al Ajmi, MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs honoured the five ISO-Certified Directorates General.
