The Hay Al-Jamie Health Center launched today Tuesday the Health Promotion Program 2018 under the theme "My Health, My Responsibility" under the patronage of H.H. Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaifar Al-Said in the presence of Dr. Fatima Al-Ajmi, Director-General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate along with a various number of medical staff and representatives from the government and private sectors.
Dr. Marim Al-Hana'ia, Head of Hay Al-Jamie Health Center pointed out in her speech that the program has been developed by the health workers in the Center, in which to be an important starting point for a series of different awareness and educational programs on community health. She also added that the program aims to instill the health promotion concept among the health workers and the community in general.
The first day of the event touched on the child protection, traffic safety, smoking cessation…etc. The three-day event included an exhibition containing booths for Basmet Amal team (a Smile for Hope), Contact Center of Ministry of Health, Oman Hereditary Blood Disorder Association (OHBDA), Civil Defence and Traffic Safety. It also included a mobile exhibition to raising the awareness of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The event will address during the next two days several topics related to the genetic blood diseases, occupational safety, early detection of chronic diseases, family protection, healthy lifestyle, healthy nutrition, health promotion from Islamic perspective and psychological health.
