The Directorate General for the Health Services at Muscat Governorate represented by Health Education & Community Initiatives Section launched on Tuesday the Health Education Day at the Holiday Hotel. The launching ceremony was patronized by H.E. Dr. Sultan Y’arub Al Busaidi, Health Affairs’ Advisor at the Ministry of Health, with the presence of Dr. Fatma Mohammed Al Ajmi, Director General of Muscat’s Health Services, and number of officials.

In her address, Dr. Al Ajmi pointed out that raising awareness is an accumulative procedure; therefore, the process of offering health information and education must be continuous.  Most importantly, it was agreed to mark Health Education Day in the Sultanate either on the 10th of May or else annually.

The ceremony also presented many papers on Health Education, modern methods in Health Education, Community Health Promoting Activities, and Social Marketing for the Health Message. Furthermore, an educational Health Exhibition accompanied the event.
