Health Holds Meetings and Conferences Organization Protocol Workshop
The Ministry of Health represented by the department of councils and committees with the support of Nizwa Bank held a training workshop on protocol of meetings and conferences organization at Holiday Muscat.
The three-day workshop, which will be concluded tomorrow (Wednesday), gathered (21) participants from MOH and Nizwa Bank.
The workshop was carried out by Youssef Al-Hasani and addressed spectrum of topics. The first day of the workshop touched on etiquette, its definition, origin and importance, in addition to the concept of protocol and prestige and their relationship with etiquette. Vienna Regulation of 1815, international paradoxes in etiquette and some differences in protocol, greeting etiquette, handshakes and introducing guests were highlighted in addition to business cards etiquette.
The second day outlined etiquette for dressing and perfumes, the general rules of precedence, the protocol for organizing the visits of official delegations visiting the country, the supervision and coordination with the competent authorities, and the protocol for receiving delegations and farewell. The workshop also touched upon the organization of international conferences and meetings, parties, preparation and hospitality for meetings, and the protocol for signing agreements.
The last day of the workshop will focus on communication skills, the communication pyramid, and emotional intelligence in dealing with others, conversation skills and responding to embarrassing questions, the four listening skills, types of personalities and dealing with difficult personalities. Furthermore, Mercedes model strategy in controlling emotions will be covered in the workshop.
The workshop aimed at providing the participants with the general knowledge and frameworks of the concepts and basics of ceremonies, the art of etiquette and protocol for organizing meetings and conferences. It further sought to highlight the relationship between the rules of etiquette and the international protocol and the basic principles of Islamic and Arabic values, customs, traditions and morals. The workshop as well aimed to provide participants with the necessary internationally recognized skills in dealing with dignitaries and official guests.
