The new expansion of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Emergency Department of Khoula Hospital was opened officially today (Monday) aside with restarting the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department after being modernized.
The event ceremony was under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Saeed Harib Al Lamki, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, with the presence of Dr. Rashid Al Alawi, Director General of KH, and number of high-ranking officials and medical and allied medical staff from the hospital.
Dr. Abdullah Al Salti, Assistant Director General for Medical Affairs at Khoula Hospital pointed out that the expansion of the OBG was due to the increasing demand for the services as figures indicated that the KH clinic has received more than (22645) patients in 2022, while the patients this year have reached (22939) so far.
He stressed that the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital represented by Khoula Hospital, Al Nahdha Hospital, and Wattaya OBG Complex, is striving to achieve a qualitative leap in Gynaecology and Obstetrics services align with Oman Vision 2040 through introducing rare specialties, maintaining service competency as per the approved international standards, along with utilizing available resources, and boosting training and scientific research.
Dr. Rahma Al Ghabshi, Senior Consultant and head of OBG at KH embarked on the progress achieved in the provided services in the department by performing complex surgeries in the field of obstetric surgeries and endoscopy.
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Emergency department has number of (4) beds and an examination room, while the labour ward includes (4) beds and an Induction room with two beds.
the department also contains (10) rooms for the final post-natal stage, a pregnant ward with (16) beds, (36) beds in the postnatal ward, (30) beds in the obstetrics and gynecology ward, (3) operating rooms, and (2) beds in the recovery room.
