The Quality Assurance Center in the Ministry of Health (MOH) held yesterday Monday a meeting gathered the officials of the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs & Drug Control, Directorate General of Administrative Affairs and the Directorate General of Financial Affairs.

The meeting, which held at the MOH meeting hall is chaired by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health and attended by H.E. Sayyed Salim al-Busaidi, Undersecretary of Ministry of Civil Service for the Administrative Development Affairs along with number of directors general in the MOH and Ministry of Civil Service.

The Minister stressed in his speech that the Ministry is one of the first ministries that established the quality system and focused in the first place at applying the comprehensive quality system.

The Minister praised the great role of the officials in the Ministry of Health, as well as in the Ministry of Civil Service in applying the ISO system (International Organization for Standardization).   

Dr. Ahmed al-Mandhari, Director General of Quality Assurance Center clarified in his speech that this joint meeting is aimed to familiarize all workers in the Ministry, especially the three mentioned Directorates about introducing the ISO system.

He also added that the meeting also aimed to raise awareness of directors and heads of sections to the importance of entering the quality management system and improve the performance in services provided by those directorates.

The team of the ISO project will start to apply the project in these directorates with support from the Ministry of Civil Service. The final assessment will be made by the arbitrators in ISO.
