H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health received in his office at the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday a World Health Organization (WHO) team of the Health System Financing Alternatives.

The meeting discussed the cordial conversations and reviewed the cooperation aspects between the Sultanate and the WHO.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Akjemal Magtymova, WHO Representative in the Sultanate along with a number of MOH Undersecretaries and senior officials.     

The team's visit aims to in-depth analysis for the health expenditure aspects in the Sultanate, identify the methods of enhancing the health financial resources, recognize the challenges, difficulties and financial risks, as well as develop suggestions and alternatives for the health financing in the Sultanate.

The program of the team includes visits to a number of government institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, the Supreme Council for Planning, the Capital Market Authority, the UNICEF Office and a number of health institutions. These visits aim to identify the future plans of health development and financing and the challenges facing the health system financing.
