Health Minister Returns from Geneva
After having headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation in the Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly meeting at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, H.E. Dr. Hilal Ali Hilal Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, returned to the country on Saturday.
The meeting highlighted the global health strategies and health issues at the global level.
During the meeting, the member states adopted the global infection control strategy proposed by the Sultanate of Oman to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Furthermore, Oman has participated in several sessions including the Global Strategy for Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, the Political declaration of the third high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, and mental health, strengthening the global architecture for health emergency preparedness, response, and resilience, ending violence against children through health systems strengthening and multispectral approaches, as well as antimicrobial resistance.
In addition, the Minister of Health conducted a number of side meetings with the health ministers of brotherly and friendly countries and delegations of medical industry investors to talk about the investment opportunities and promotion for the health sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
