A new case of Middle–East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus was recorded on Tuesday. The total number of registered cases from various Governorates of the Sultanate since the beginning of 2019 has reached 6 cases.

The new case is receiving the necessary medical care in one of the hospitals.

The Ministry affirms its continued efforts in monitoring and controls the disease through the effective Epidemiological Surveillance System, as well as the preparedness of all hospitals in dealing with such cases. The Ministry also proceeds the necessary health procedures with the other relevant authorities.

The Ministry calls upon everyone to seek information from their reliable source. In addition, it urges all citizens and residents to comply with the preventive measures to control infection and practicing healthy habits when sneezing and coughing.
