The Ministry of Health’s Undersecretaries; H.E. Dr. Saeed Harib Al Lamki, Health Affairs Undersecretary, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Salem Al-Mandhari, Planning and Health Regulation Undersecretary, and H.E. Dr. Suleiman Nasser Al Haji, Administrative and Financial Affairs Undersecretary, visited today ( Sunday) a number of healthcare institutions in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, accompanied by a delegation of several directors-general and ministry officials.
The Undersecretaries visited Izki Hospital, where they observed the progress of work in the hospital’s departments, wards, and units. They met with the hospital's management and healthcare workers, listened to their suggestions and views on improving the quality of services offered, and encouraged everyone to exert their utmost effort to overcome challenges and facilitate the provision of healthcare with the required quality.
The visit included also Izki Polyclinic and the health centers of Fanja and Farq, where the Undersecretaries met the officials in charge and were briefed on the operation mechanisms in these facilities. They further listened to suggestions for improving and enhancing the services provided, urging the staff to work harder to provide high-quality healthcare services to the patients.
Furthermore, the Undersecretaries listened to number of patients’ views and suggestions regarding the medical services provided in these institutions.
On another note, as part of the visit program, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Health met H.E. Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of Ad-Dakhiliyah. The meeting touched upon various issues related to the healthcare services and ways to enhance them to meet the needs of the population in the governorate. The meeting also shed light on the Ministry’s perspectives on solving the challenges facing the healthcare services in the area, its ambitious plans to elevate these services as well the future projects that will be undertaken.
Moreover, a meeting was convened among the Ministry of Health’s Undersecretaries and the Directorate General of Health Services in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate at the Training and Studies Center of Nizwa Hospital.
During the meeting, Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Shukaili, Director General of Ad Dakhiliyah Health, presented the efforts of the DG to enhance the health services provided at various health institutions in the governorate. He also discussed the challenges faced in delivering quality health services and the solutions to overcome them.
Several directors of departments from Ad Dakhiliyah Health showcased detailed presentations highlighting number of topics on development projects, project and maintenance costs, the Health Centers in Manah and Si'h Al-Ma'ashi health centers, in addition to administrative and financial affairs, pharmacy and warehouses, information technology, planning and studies, rehabilitation and training, and quality in private health institutions.
Notably, this visit is part of the regular field visits that Ministry of Health officials are keen to carry out to observe the progress of work in healthcare institutions at all three levels of care (primary, secondary, and tertiary), assess needs, and study the development of the healthcare system’s infrastructure through direct observation and discussions with health officials in the governorates, as well as with medical, nursing, administrative, and healthcare staff in these institutions, and listen to their suggestions and views on improving healthcare.
