The Directorate General of Planning and Studies of the Ministry of Health represented by the Department of Information & Statistics organized recently a workshop on the Best Use of Health Information with the attendance of more than 50 participants of directors and heads of departments on the central and governorates level along with the Statistical Centre for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The workshop aimed at identifying the health information and reports issued by the Information and Statistics department, and ways of interpreting the health indicators resulted from the health data in order to derive the outcomes and facts that reflect the health statue in the Sultanate. Therefore, helping decision makers in the healthcare field in establishing plans and future goals.

The workshop included several scientific lectures that aimed at upgrading the knowledge level of the decision makers as well as reviewing the Information and Statistics department publications such as the annual health report and Health Facts, which contains information in multidisciplinary fields such as demographic and biological indicators, human resources, health services and expenditures.
