The medical services are continuing provide by the health institutions in the Governorates of Dhofar and Al-Wusta during the period of tropical storm "Luban" weather in the institutions themselves or in the alternative temporary sites.

This was reaffirmed by Dr. Rashid Al-Badi, Director of Emergencies Center at the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Coordinator of Response and Public Health Sector in the National Committee of Civil Defense.

Dr. Al-Badi clarified that the medical services in shelter centers at the Wilayats of Rakhiot, Dhalkot and Sadah are easily ongoing without any risks due to the tropical situation.Dr. Rashid pointed out that the health services in the Wilayat of Rakhiot are providing in the Basic Education Schools including Hairon, Sharshity, Shahab, Sa'eeb, Ardeet and Agdarout. In the Wilayat of Dhalkot, the health services are providing in the Basic Education Schools including Daim, Dhalkot and Hafof, while the administrative centers are providing the health services in the Wilayat of Sadah.

Dr. Al-Badi stressed that the Heart Center of the Sultan Qaboos Hospital (SQH) in Salalah is still receiving the accidents and emergency cases of adults, and the Armed Forces Hospital in Salalah is receiving cases of gynecology and childbirth (critical cases & childbirth), as well as accidents and emergency cases of children. In addition, the SQH dialysis Unit continuing providing the dialysis services regularly. Dr. Rashid continued that the Medical Response and Public Health Sector and the Main Committee of Health Disaster & Emergency Management in Dhofar and Al-Wusta Governorates are continuing dealing with any calls and inquiries of citizens and residents received by the MOH Contact Center. He also confirmed that some of the effects at the SQH are being addressed. It is hoped that providing of health services at the SQH and all health institutions in Dhofar Governorate will return as soon as possible, especially with the gradual decline of the tropical storm with its direct and indirect effects.On the other hand, Dr. Al-Badi reaffirmed that the MOH Contact Center continues working around-the-clock, where it receives the calls and queries at 24441999.

He also praised the cooperation and coordination between the MOH Medical Response and Public Health Sector and the other authorities, as well as the efforts of the MOH staff.
