A three-day workshop on 'Leadership and Patient Experience', hosted by the Sultanate of Oman represented by the Ministry of Health and organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization of the League of Arab States in cooperation with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, commenced today (Tuesday) at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque Auditorium.
The opening of the workshop was patronized by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari, MOH’s Undersecretary for Planning and Health Regulation, with the presence of Dr. Abeer Al Maamari, Director of Patient and Clients Services Department, and a number of officials from the ministry.
The three-day workshop aims to develop the skills of workers and leaders in the healthcare field to enhance and improve healthcare services provided to beneficiaries by identifying patient experience standards and measures to enhance trust and cooperation between service providers and patients, involving healthcare leaders, service providers, and patients in improving the level and outcomes of the experience, deepening the use of healthcare service governance mechanisms based on patient experience, and presenting best practices and successful international models in this field.
An introduction to patient experience, the impact of patient experience in the healthcare organization were among the first-day topics of the workshop, in addition to measuring patient experience and the roadmap to patient experience.
The second day of the workshop will focus on care providers in a patient-centered environment, covering several topics including human communication, effective teams, excellence in service, satisfaction recovery, and educational reflection.
a theme on transmitting to a patient-centered organization will be outlined on the third day, focusing on two main aspects: organizational transformation leadership and the experience of the Omani MOH and the role of leadership.
