Marine Ambulance Service Transport Patients from the Coastal Areas to the Health Institutions in the Governorate of Mussandam
Under the patronage of H.E. Sayyid Khalifa bin al-Mirdas al-Busaidy, governor of Mussandam, the Ministry of Health launched today the marine ambulance service at Khasab Port in the Governorate of Mussandam, which is the first of its kind in the Sultanate. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Darweesh bin Saif al-Muharbi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative and Financial Affairs along with government officials and citizens.
Nasir bin Saif al-Sadi, Director General of Health Services in the Governorate of Mussandam said in his welcoming speech: “this marine ambulance service is one of the Ministry of Health’s initiatives at the regional level. The Governorate of Mussandam has a strategic location, as well as a fantastic view to have this unique service.”
This service aims to transport the patients from the coastal areas to the health institutions, especially the critical and emergency cases in a quick and safe way by (4) boats. This four boats run to and from Khasab and Daba hospitals, as well as Khimzar and Lima health centers.
The marine ambulance has the necessary equipment and medical devices like; patient monitor, suction machine, defibrillator, nebulizer, ventilator and patient stretcher.
