The two-day Ministry of Health Engineers Forum, organized by the Ministry of Health’s Directorate General of Projects and Engineering Services, concluded today (Monday) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Hilal Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, in the presence of Eng. Youssef Yaqub Ambouali, Director General of Projects and Engineering Services, along with several officials from the Ministry.
In his closing remarks, Eng. Youssef Ambouali emphasized that the forum served as an excellent opportunity for the exchange of expertise, showcasing best practices, and discussing real-world challenges faced by engineering personnel in the field. He noted that it was an interactive platform that strengthened teamwork, reinforced the principles of innovation and development, and resulted in key recommendations aimed at improving performance and enhancing the quality of projects and technical services within the healthcare sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The forum saw the participation of 200 engineers and technicians involved in engineering activities from various directorates and healthcare institutions across Oman. It featured presentations by directors and heads of sections from the Directorate General of Projects and Engineering Services.
The forum aimed to enhance engineering performance, share best practices, discuss current challenges and proposed solutions, improve the quality of services, renew and strengthen work standards, promote communication and knowledge exchange among engineering teams, and align efforts to achieve the Ministry of Health’s strategic goals in support of Oman Vision 2040.
Key topics discussed during the forum sessions included: project management, billing and monitoring systems, maintenance planning and prioritization, and the policy for replacing obsolete medical equipment. The forum also highlighted the importance of qualifying engineers through specialized workshops, technical and professional training programs, and continuous education opportunities. Participants were encouraged to stay abreast of the latest advancements in medical, structural, and electromechanical engineering, as well as modern project management practices
Dedicated sessions were held for direct feedback from engineers following each presentation to assess the current state of work, identify obstacles, and explore optimal practices. Participants also shared success stories and real-life experiences that served as inspiration for further development.
At the conclusion of the forum, His Excellency the patron of the event honored outstanding performers in engineering work from Ministry’s DGPES, as well as those in engineering and maintenance departments across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, as well those who excelled in updating project at Adaa Platform.
