The Ministry of Health (MOH) celebrated today (Wednesday), the inauguration of Al-Jardah Health Center in Al-Mudhaibi, North Sharqiyah Governorate, with a private funding of approximately OMR 500,000.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Mahmoud bin Yahya Al-Dhahli, Governor of North Sharqiyah, in the presence of a number of distinguished guests, including members of the State and Shura Councils, walis of North Sharqiyah, officials from various civil and military government authorities.
The project, inaugurated as part of the country’s National Day celebrations, covers a total area of 25,333 square meters, with a built-up area of 841 square meters. The center was designed to ensure smooth internal circulation and to provide a comfortable and safe working environment for both staff and visitors, while adhering to approved quality and safety standards. The project represents a significant qualitative and quantitative addition to health services in Al-Mudhaibi in particular, and North Sharqiyah Governorate in general.
The center comprises eight medical clinics, including general clinics and a dental clinic, in addition to an X-ray room, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a treatment room, and a meeting room, along with fully integrated public and service facilities catering to staff, patients, and visitors. The building is also equipped with a comprehensive system of modern electrical and mechanical installations to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
In this regard, Dr. Ahmed bin Said Al-Saidi, Director General of Health Services for North Sharqiyah Governorate, stated that the center represents a practical embodiment of the integration between government efforts and benevolent community initiatives. He pointed out that the establishment of this project was accompanied by the preparation and training of qualified human resources to operate and manage the center, to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
Dr. Al-Saidi went on to highlight the qualitative and quantitative transformation witnessed in the health services of North Sharqiyah Governorate, including the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi. This progress, he noted, aligns with the Ministry’s five-year plan and Oman Vision 2040, through the development of healthcare facilities, the strengthening of medical staff, and the enhancement of service quality in line with the nation’s comprehensive development goals.
He emphasized that the inauguration of the center translates the national direction aimed at upgrading healthcare services across the Sultanate’s wilayats and population centers, and facilitating citizens’ access to primary healthcare within an integrated framework of quality and sustainability — in line with Oman Vision 2040, which envisions “a society enjoying sustainable health and well-being.”
He added that the governorate’s efforts have extended to focusing on the quality of services provided. A quality assurance and improvement system has been implemented across all primary healthcare institutions, along with continuous monitoring of beneficiaries’ satisfaction through surveys and studies. The governorate has also worked to support the structures of the health system and the community across all government and private sectors. The active health committees in all wilayats of the governorate serve as a clear testament to this approach, which the Ministry of Health prioritizes highly.
For his part, Eng. Yousuf bin Yaqub Ambo Ali, MOH Director General of Projects and Engineering Services, stressed that the project comes within the Ministry’s plan to develop health infrastructure and expand the scope of services to reach all citizens. This initiative reflects Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on enhancing quality of life and providing comprehensive and sustainable healthcare services.
The project was implemented under the supervision of the Directorate General of Projects and Engineering Services at the Ministry of Health. It is considered one of the vital health initiatives that embody the Ministry’s commitment to expanding the reach of healthcare services, improving their quality, and ensuring their balanced distribution. The project contributes to reducing the pressure on neighboring health institutions and facilitates citizens’ access to modern, comprehensive medical services within a safe, well-equipped environment featuring the latest technologies.
