MOH, OMIFCO Sign Agreement for Funding Breathing Apparatus
The Ministry of Health (MOH) signed today (Wednesday) an agreement for supplying ventilators and breathing apparatus for low-income and social Security patients worth (50,000) OR funded by Oman India Fertilizer Company SAOC (OMIFCO).
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Darweesh Saif Al Maharbi, MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative & Financial Affairs, and OMIFCO’s Board of Directors Member and Oman Oil Company (OOC)’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Al Mutasim Said Al Sariri.
H.E. Dr. Al Maharbi emphasized the significance of public and private sector partnerships for the general interest, praising OMIFCO initiative in funding the purchase of ventilators for low income and social security patients.
OMIFCO representative Mr. Al Sariri stressed the Corporate Social Responsibility at company to engage its employees with the community and collectively determine the social-economic and environmental priorities in the community in line with the company's objectives. Its continuing commitment to partnerships and cooperation with government institutions serves the development of the country, including with regard to health services provided to citizens.It is noted that home ventilators induce a positive impact by reducing patients’ long stay in the hospitals particularly at the intensive care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU), consequently using the ICU beds for the critical cases. Additionally these devices can prevent infections transmission.
