The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Directorate General of Private Health Establishments, organized today (Sunday) the Annual Forum of Private Health Establishments 2026 at Kempinski Hotel Muscat, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, with the presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al Mandhari, MOH Undersecretary for Health Planning and Regulation, along with several officials, representatives of private health establishments, and relevant stakeholders.
This year’s Forum convened under the theme “Private Health Sector: Trust – Excellence – Partnership,” reaffirming the strategic and integral role of the private health sector as a key partner in advancing the national healthcare system, elevating service quality standards, and institutionalizing the principles of governance and accountability.
The Forum addressed a range of strategic themes, most notably the Ministry of Health's efforts to regulate and advance the private health sector and to strengthen integration between the public and private sectors, thereby contributing to the achievement of universal health coverage and supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The speeches and visual presentations further highlighted the governance and regulatory framework, institutional development pathways, as well as practical models and experiences demonstrating the tangible impact of partnership in elevating the quality and efficiency of healthcare services.
Furthermore, the Forum highlighted the importance of investing in national talent, showcasing Omanization efforts within the private health sector, as well as the opportunities available to empower national cadres and strengthen their presence across various health specialties.
The Forum concluded with the recognition of a number of outstanding private health institutions, alongside supportive governmental and private entities, in appreciation of their contributions to advancing the sector and fostering a culture of institutional partnership.
It is worth noting that this Forum reaffirms that the private health sector is no longer merely a service provider, but rather an active partner in the nation’s health development journey and a key contributor to enhancing quality of life and advancing the healthcare transformation agenda in the Sultanate of Oman.
