The Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Oman College of Health Sciences and government health institutions organized today (Wednesday) a workshop on the Importance of Health Information Management in Health Care at the Sultan Qaboos Great Mosque Workshop.

The event was attended by Dr. Abdullah Al-Muniri, Advisor of the Ministry of Health for Public Health, director general and directors of hospitals, representatives and participants from the military, governmental and private medical institutions. 

Abdullah Al-Hinai, Director of the Health Data Registration and Management, delivered a welcoming speech in which he said that the Department of Health Data Registration and Management in the General Directorate of Planning and Studies worked on implementing this workshop and ensuring broad participation from the health sector at the national level to raise awareness, share developments and benefit from various experiences and successful initiatives in this field. 

He added that the great leaps that are taking place in the field of health care and treatment services and their improvement in the Sultanate of Oman are a source of pride for medical personnel and qualified institutions in this sector. Therefore, these efforts should be documented and highlighted through continuous training courses and workshops to develop this vital sector.

The workshop aimed to introduce the developments related to health information management, promoting the scientific aspect of documenting the causes of death, and keep pace with regional and international trends in focusing on the quality of health information and its impact on care indicators, as well as to ensure the accuracy and realism of data collected from various health institutions.
