The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to confirm to the citizens and residents that the Sultanate is free of cholera till this moment. The MOH in cooperation with the concerned authorities have taken all the necessary procedures to prepare and respond to this disease including identifying the health institutions that will receive patients if needed, especially the health centers, as well as patients' routes and treatment methods. The Ministry would also like to clarify that the disease is not transmitted from person to another, but through contamination of water and food. It also asserts that the situation does not currently require evacuating entire words , but some single rooms, which are originally isolation rooms in anticipation of any infectious disease not only cholera. The MOH calls all citizens and residents to follow healthy practices and habits such washing hands with water and soap before and after eating, taking the correct information from reliable sources and not paying attention to rumors.
