As part of the ongoing communication between the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the private healthcare sector, and in light of the emphasis on healthcare providers' commitment to ethical, professional, and legal principles in delivering high-quality healthcare, H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Manthari, MOH Undersecretary for Planning and Health Regulation, met with directors of private hospitals in the Sultanate of Oman at the Ministry's headquarters.
During the meeting, attention was focused on the challenges facing the private healthcare sector and the available opportunities for its development.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Manthari praised the vital role played by the private healthcare sector as an active partner in serving the citizens and residents of the Sultanate of Oman, which complements the efforts of government health institutions. This is particularly significant as it covers approximately two million expatriate beneficiaries, in addition to Omani citizens benefiting from private healthcare services.
During the meeting, the key challenges in healthcare investment, health insurance, as well as medical and paramedical human resources were reviewed. Attention was also given to the prominent role of the Directorate General of Private Health Establishments in facilitating the operation of the private healthcare sector and activating its supervisory and regulatory roles.
It is worth mentioning that regular meetings will be held every three months, involving other relevant government sectors related to the healthcare sector, medical and healthcare human resources, health insurance, and investment, to contribute to development in line with Oman Vision 2040
