In a significant move underscoring the shared commitment to strengthening ties in the health sector, H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, signed a memorandum of cooperation with his Cuban counterpart, Dr. José Ángel Portal.
The memorandum aims to bolster collaboration in healthcare and medical sciences and facilitate the exchange of expertise to improve health services and enhance healthcare systems in both countries. The partnership also seeks to maximize mutual capabilities and opportunities tangibly and comprehensively.
The memorandum outlines plans for exchanging and training medical personnel, implementing specialized training programs, and conducting joint scientific research in medicine and health sciences.
The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly, currently taking place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and continuing through May 27. Oman is participating in the high-level meeting with a delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Hilal Al-Sabti.
