Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) held today (Sunday) a graduation ceremony of its sixth cohort (2023/2024) comprising (628) graduates from the college's branches in Muscat and across Oman’s Governorates.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of H.E. Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labor, with the presence of His Excellency Dr. Saeed Harib Al-Lamki, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, along with college administration, faculty members, and the graduates' families.
Dr. Fahad Al-Zidjali, Dean of OCHS, delivered a speech emphasizing the college’s role in providing the healthcare sector with qualified professionals capable of serving society. He also highlighted the Ministry of Health's ongoing efforts in preparing a long-term plan “Health Vision 2050,” which aims to keep up with global health and technological advancements. The plan includes several key initiatives, notably the development of human resources to ensure the sustainability of the health system.
Dr. Al-Zidjali pointed out that Oman College of Health Sciences is a leading educational institution that adopts high-quality academic and training programs in line with global standards. Currently, the college offers six health specialties and is working to expand these programs based on community and job market needs, with the aim of producing qualified professionals to meet ambitious goals.
The graduate Sultan Al-Mazrouei, a nursing major, then gave a speech on behalf of the graduates. He expressed pride in their achievement and gratitude to the college administration, faculty members, and families for their continuous support.
Following the speeches, the graduates took the oath, pledging to adhere to ethical practices and deliver care without discrimination.
The event also featured a celebratory poem and a video showcasing the achievements of the Oman College of Health Sciences.
The ceremony concluded with His Excellency the patron of the event honoring the top performing graduates in various programs and branches and distributing certificates to all graduates.
It is worth noting that the Oman College of Health Sciences it offers six undergraduate degree programs: Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Health Information Management. The event coincided with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of health educational institutions in Oman.
