The Ministry of Health (MoH) will inaugurate the Al Suwaiq Reference Hospital, built at a total cost exceeding RO75mn, in North Batinah on Wednesday.

Constructed in line with the latest international standards for hospital development, the project marks a major qualitative and quantitative boost to healthcare services in the governorate. Its strategic location on the main highway in North Batinah further enhances its importance, positioning it as the most significant health project in Suwaiq – the primary provider of both primary and secondary healthcare services for citizens and residents.

The new facility is built on a plot of land measuring 278,347sqm, with a total built-up area of 47,020.68sqm. The 260-bed hospital comprises a main building for clinical services, in addition to supporting facilities and public amenities.

The project reflects the sultanate’s commitment, through MoH, to ensuring the availability of high-quality healthcare services for all, contributing to improved quality of life and community wellbeing. It also underscores the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and modernise the healthcare system across all governorates of Oman.
