The Royal Hospital represented by Studies and Research Department organized today (Wednesday) the third annual research day at Maani Hotel (Muscat). The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Hadabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, in the presence of Dr. Sami Al Farsi, RH Director General, as well a number of officials and healthcare providers at the hospital, researchers and representatives of the academic and private sector.
Dr. Hasina Al Harthi, Head of Studies and Research in Royal Hospital delivered a speech in which she highlighted the exceptional efforts made by healthcare providers at the Hospital and despite their full engagement in providing daily care to patients; they continue to work on scientific research.
Dr. Al Harthi pointed out to the remarkable progress made in the research field, which would contribute to the promotion of research and innovation in healthcare, enhancing thus the hospital’s position toward achieving leadership both locally and regionally.
During the event, activities of the Research Department during the current year 2024 and the research production at the hospital were presented. The event also included an overview of innovation in the health sector.
The “Annual Research Day” is carried out in all RH’s departments and centers, where 14 posters, and 17 presentations were selected on Sunday and winners were announced today during the event.
On the category of the scientific poster, the Surgery Department won the first place. The second place went to Emergency Department, while the third was granted to Nursing Department.
The three best presentations went to the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Emergency department, and Radiology, respectively.
The judging committee included experts from the Ministry of Health, Sultan Qaboos University and Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre.
