Within the last day visit program to the Sultanate, the Syrian health delegation visited today (Wednesday) a number of health facilities in Muscat.
The delegation visited the MOH’s Directorate General of Diseases Surveillance and Control and met with officials and employees of affiliated departments and sections.
Moreover, the Syrian delegation went to Central Public Health Laboratories in Darsait and were updated on the work mechanism and the efforts in workers on national level.
In their visit to the COVID-19 Field Hospital, the delegation learnt about the hospital equipment and were acquainted with methods of receiving and managing covid-19 patients along with the hospital’s capacity.
Furthermore, the Syrian Health delegation met H.E. Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs at Ministry headquarters.
The meeting exchanged cordial talks and reviewed the delegation visits to health institutions and aspects related to exchanging expertise and visits.
The two sides are looking forward signing health agreements in the upcoming period.
It should be noted that the visit of Syrian health delegation was conducted with the aim of learning about Oman’s experience in the Covid-19 preparedness and response coordination, strategies and approaches to contain the pandemic within the framework of the Oman’s public health care system, as well understanding surveillance and public health laboratory priorities and capacities in the pandemic context.
