The third Health Leadership Forum was convened today (Wednesday) under the auspices of H. E. Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health at the DusitD2 Naseem Resort, Jabal Akhdar.

The forum was carried out to review and follow up the situation of health system in the country, underlying key challenges and search for solutions, gathering Ministry’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, Governorates’ directors general of health services and hospitals directors, and directors at the Ministry.

The Health Minister emphasized that the forum, though considered complimentary to the previous forums, comes with a new perspective that thrive for upgrading health services in Governorates.

He commended the many achievements that have been accomplished over the past period with team spirit, each in its own field, which received positive feedback from society including for instance integrating treatment services among referral health institutions at Governorates, and the expansion of Suhar Hospital project.

The Minister of Health launched the second edition of preparing leaders training program. The new identity of the forum was also launched during the event.

H.E. Dr. Saeed Harib Al Lamki, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs gave a presentation on the health service: reality and development opportunities, reviewing health indicators of the provided services in the Governorates, current developments of health services across the Sultanate of Oman,  and future aspirations of the Ministry.

The Governorate Address was delivered by the Director General of Health Services Dr. Nasser Abdullah Al Shukaili where he underlined the incorporation of success model in health in the Governorate.

The forum touched upon the components of sound management decision as well visiting physicians from public sector to the private health establishments. Moreover, the event reviewed project on Standards of Huma Resources Needs and Distribution, and the (WISIN) project on identifying human resources needs, in addition to shedding light on the Investment in Health Sector Laboratory.

The first day of the forum concluded with number of important recommendations that would work to achieve quality health services and facilitate their provision, in addition to meeting many challenges.
