The Sultanate will take part in the 68th meeting of the World Health Assembly (WHA), which will be held in Geneva during 18th to 26th of May 2015.
The Sultanate’s delegation to the meeting led by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Ali bin Talib al-Hinai, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs and a number of experts, consultants and technicians in the health field.
The Arab Health Ministers mandate H.E. Dr. Ahmed al-Saidi to deliver a speech on behalf of them during the 68th WHA meeting.
During this meeting, technical aspects related to health programs on the communicable diseases will be discussed like; Ebola Virus outbreak in 2014, Malaria, dengue fever prevention and control and international work plan on vaccinations.
The discussions will also cover the non-communicable diseases like; mothers, infants and young children nutrition, children obesity and global burden of epilepsy and its health and social effects. In addition to lifelong health promotion, preparedness, surveillance, response and health systems.
The Ministry of Health organized recently its participations in the international events through issuance of the Sultanate’s document included all agenda, the Sultanate’s attitudes, as well as the meetings associated to this international event.
The Sultanate also will take part in the side meetings held parallel to this meeting, particularly the Arab Health Ministers Council meeting held on May 17th, 2015, as well as the GCC Ministers of Health Council meeting held on May 19th, 2015.
