Training-of-Trainers Workshop on Health Promotion
A training workshop to train certified trainers in health promotion is currently in progress for the second day at the Continuing Professional Development Center in Wutayyah.
Dr. Said bin Harib Al-Lamki, Director General of Primary Health Care attended today (Monday) the opening of the workshop along with a number of family medicine physicians.
The training workshop aims to train trainers in the field of health promotion to be certified trainers in their governorates and to equip them with the necessary skills to assess the community's needs.
During the workshop, Dr. Said Al-Lamki launched the E-Guideline for Health Promotion.
The workshop includes lectures, visual presentations, and panel discussions highlighting several related issues such as health education strategy, planning for awareness campaigns, practical communication skills, building the strategic plan, assessing the society and its needs, models used for planning, the difference between health and wellness, health determinants and others.
Dr. Nawal Al-Rashdi, Director of Education & Awareness Programs at the Ministry of Health, pointed out that the main means to promote health is by improving public health policies that address the basic requirements of health, such as income, housing, food security, workforce, and quality of working conditions.
