The Sultanate of Oman hosted the meeting of the Gulf Health Council’s Committee for Updating and Tendering the Guidelines of Medical Laboratory Supplies & Blood Transfusion Services No. (22), which was commenced today (Sunday) at the Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat.

The five-day meeting will work on updating the guidelines, preparing the tender for medical laboratory supplies, reviewing recommendations from previous technical committee meetings, and discussing the items listed in the guidelines. They will consider proposals from member countries for adding, modifying, or removing items to ensure the procurement of high-quality products at competitive prices, aiming to create a consistent healthcare system across the GCC.

The meeting will also cover members’ technical remarks regarding item-related issues, review the general and technical conditions of the tender, discuss technical specifications, supply conditions, reports of non-compliance by companies with delivery deadlines. Additionally, it will address the list of companies recommended for participation by member states.
