The sessions of the Gulf Health Council’s Committee for Updating and Tendering the Directory of Medical Laboratory & Blood Transfusion Supplies, hosted by the Sultanate represented by the Ministry of Health has begun today (Monday) at the City Seasons hotel.

The four-day meeting reviews decisions of Their Excellencies the Ministers as well as the recommendations of the executive body, in addition to updating articles of the of Medical Laboratory & Blood Transfusion Supplies Directory No.(19) 2019. Moreover, the meeting discusses the recommendations issued within the meetings of the tender technical committees in addition to the general and technical tendering conditions and terms, lists of the registered firms in the unified purchase that are invited to participate in tender no. (19) 2019.

Furthermore, the meeting reviews the tender statistical table and agenda of the GCC Unified Procurement Program phases 2019. It would illustrate the Unified Procurement Program for pharmaceutical and medical supplies according to the quality standards with the best competitive prices of the qualified companies.

The meeting commenced with a speech delivered by Dr. Saeed Al Lamki, Director General of Primary Health Care and Executive Body Member in the Gulf Health Council where he highlighted the successful experience of the Council in the Unified Purchase, marking the achievements and savings in the purchases for all the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries. Dr. Al Lamki emphasized the Council’s keenness in making the unified purchase tenders’ rules and regulations fair and clear.

Moreover, Eng. Fathi Edha Al Katheri, Director of Unified Procurement at the Gulf Health Council reviewed in his speech the progress and achievements of the program over the four decades, in addition to increasing the numbers of tenders and companies participations. Eng.

The word addressed the program’s concerns regarding the selection of the quality-types from the best national and global companies.
