A team of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office and from the headquarters in Geneva, currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman met today (Monday) Ministry of Health’s Central Directors General along with Representatives from the University Medical City and the Medical City of Military and Security Units at InterCity Hotel, Muscat.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the operational systems within these institutions and to exchange job opportunities and expertise.
During the meeting, the working systems adopted within Oman’s health sector institutions and the provided health programs were reviewed. The discussion also covered the challenges faced by these institutions, including issues related to human resources, funding, and infrastructure, which contribute to understanding the obstacles hindering the improvement of health services.
Furthermore, opportunities for improving the health system were discussed, including innovations in service delivery, efficiency enhancements, and strengthening collaboration between various institutions. Recommendations based on these discussions were also presented to help develop strategies for improving the health system in Oman.
