A two-day workshop on monitoring the implementation of service contracts in healthcare institutions in Muscat Governorate commenced today (Wednesday) at Oman National Bank Head Office. The workshop, organized by the Department of Administrative Affairs at the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat was held under the patronage of H.E. Suleiman Nasser Al Haji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Thamra Al Ghafri, Director General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, Hassan Abdul Amir Shaban, General Manager and Chief Government & Alliance Banking Officer at NBO, along with a number of invited guests and participants.
Director of Administrative Affairs in DGHS-Muscat Mahmood Al Nabhani emphasized in the opening remarks that the workshop is an important step towards enhancing transparency and efficiency in managing service contracts in health institutions, which in turn contributes to achieving the highest levels of quality in the services provided to both clients and patients.
The workshop program covers a range of specialized topics, focusing on the policy of monitoring service contracts and the mechanisms for overseeing their implementation, and methods to improve oversight procedures for upgrading service quality. The workshop will further shed light on the project of the provision of food supplies to dialysis units, which aims to deliver healthy and balanced meals to patients, thus promoting the health and well-being of kidney patients.
The workshop aims to achieve several key objectives, including raising awareness among participants about the importance of monitoring service contracts, contract terms, and violations. It seeks to identify standards for ensuring service quality, train participants on conducting internal audits, and offer solutions to challenges in the monitoring process. Additionally, the workshop aims to enhance the efficiency of staff involved in contract oversight, promote effective management, foster collaboration between health centers and relevant authorities for better service delivery, and provide a platform for discussing and sharing experiences among all stakeholders involved in service monitoring.
The workshop, run by speakers from Muscat Health and MOH, saw the participation of (170) personnel, including nursing supervisors, focal points of infection control program, and nutrition services.
The second day of the workshop will be convened in Al Masarra Hospital.
