Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Office
The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Office is one of the departments directly affiliated with the Office of His Excellency, the Minister of Health. It plays a pivotal role in monitoring and evaluating strategic objectives and programs through direct supervision and follow-up methodologies. This includes overseeing strategic and health development projects using an accurate and transparent mechanism, which is reviewed in a quarterly meeting chaired by His Excellency, the Minister of Health, who also serves as the chairman of the Supervision Committee for Strategic Programs. These meetings assess implementation progress, including project completion rates and challenges hindering target achievement. Additionally, the office is responsible for identifying alternative plans to accelerate implementation in cases of delays, employing modern, flexible mechanisms to mitigate risks through its expertise in project and risk management. It also plays a catalytic role in fostering excellence and innovation. Furthermore, the office actively engages stakeholders across government, the private sector, and civil society, ensuring collaboration within their respective competencies and responsibilities. Its overarching goal is to realize the strategic vision of a world-class healthcare system by expanding comprehensive and equitable healthcare services across Oman, increasing medical specialties, and enhancing the number of specialized health colleges and institutes. These efforts aim to develop a highly skilled health workforce across various medical and healthcare fields while integrating best practices and global trends in medical services and healthcare institutions at all levels.

The Vision Office was activated in 2022 after adopting the health priority in the Strategic Programs Volume of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan 2021-2025. Following this, the health priority targets were endorsed on January 22, 2023, and subsequently, the supervisory committee for the strategic programs in the healthcare sector of Oman Vision 2040 was formed on February 5, 2023. This committee was tasked with governing the strategic programs and associated projects within the health priority of Oman Vision 2040
