Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Office
The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Office is one of the departments directly affiliated to the Office of His Excellency the minister of health. It plays a major and pivotal role in the follow-up and evaluation of strategic objectives and programs, following the methodologies of direct supervision and follow-up of their implementation. This include strategic and health development projects, in terms of adopting an accurate and clear mechanism monitored by a quarterly meeting chaired by His Excellency the minister of Health, chairman of the supervision committee of strategic programs, which includes the implementation progress of each project in all its details, including completion rates, including the challenges facing reaching and achieving the target. In addition to the original competence of the office in terms of searching for alternative plans to speed up implementation in case of stumbling and slowing down, while finding practical, modern and flexible mechanisms to avoid risks and threats through the office's specialization in the field of project and risk management, while playing a catalytic role in supporting the domain of excellence and innovation. The office is also looking forward to all stakeholders from the government, the private sector and civil society, each in turn and within the scope of its competence and responsibilities, to achieve the strategic direction of a leading healthcare system with international standards through the expansion of the comprehensive and equitable health care provision system in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, the expansion of medical specialties and the increase of specialized health colleges and institutes; with the aim of developing human resources for health working in various specialties of medicine and health care, while adopting the best practices and global trends, whether at the level of medical services or health care institutions at all levels.

The Vision Office was activated in 2022 after adopting the health priority in the Strategic Programs Volume of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan 2021-2025. Following this, the health priority targets were endorsed on January 22, 2023, and subsequently, the supervisory committee for the strategic programs in the healthcare sector of Oman Vision 2040 was formed on February 5, 2023. This committee was tasked with governing the strategic programs and associated projects within the health priority of Oman Vision 2040
