Undersecretary Office for Planning and Health Regulation in MOH

The Planning and Health Regulation Office focuses on enhancing individual and community well-being while effectively managing illnesses as they arise. It operates through various divisions, focusing on two main areas: planning and health regulation across both the public and private sectors. The planning aspect follows an evidence-based methodology to ensure the optimal geographic distribution of healthcare services and institutions. The health regulation aspect is responsible for establishing laws, legislation, principles, and guidelines that govern the healthcare sector, aligning with the six core components of the healthcare system as defined by the World Health Organization, which include healthcare service delivery, leadership and governance, healthcare financing, health workforce development, health information and research, as well as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical technologies, and digital innovations. Additionally, the office oversees several directorates and departments, including the Directorate General of Planning, the Quality Assurance Center, the Directorate General of Information Technology & Digital Health, the Directorate General of Private Health Establishments, and the Drug Safety Center.
