Dear Valued Visitor, If you believe that you or a loved one has been harmed due to a possible medical error while receiving care at a healthcare facility in Oman, this service is here to help you share your concerns. Before submitting a complaint, we strongly encourage you to first speak with the doctor or medical team who provided the care. In many cases, what may seem like an error is actually a complication related to the original illness or the treatment itself. A conversation with the healthcare professional can often help clear up misunderstandings or provide the clarity you need. Taking this step may save you time and help resolve your concerns more quickly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Steps to provide the service:
- Applicant and/or patient information.
- Information about the claimed medical error.
- To upload the required attachments.
- Paying the fees.
- The minutes of the meeting the complainant had with each institution’s administration (in the presence of the main treating doctors) regarding the complaint.
- Detailed complaint letter with clarification about the date and place of incident.
- Copy of medical reports/records for treatment abroad (if applicable).
- Social Insurance card (if applicable).
- Evidence of official legal representation if the patient himself is not the applicant. exception: father applying for his children does not need legal proof.
Important Note Before You Submit a Complaint: This service is only for handling medical error complaints that have not been taken to the legal system yet.
If your case is already being handled by the Public Prosecution or the courts, we won’t be able to process it here.
Payment of Complaint Fees
There is a fee of 25 OMR to file a complaint.
However, you do not need to pay this fee if you are an Omani citizen registered under social insurance.
If you’re not sure whether you qualify for an exemption, feel free to contact the concerned department at the Ministry of Social Development before submitting your complaint.
