Ibn Sina Psychiatric Hospital (1984-2013) was renamed Al Masrra Hospital after moving to the new building and opening on 14-4-2013 where It was the beginning of psychotherapy in the early 1970s at Al-Rahma Hospital.

Besides that, the hospital provides treatment for alcohol and substance misuse addict patients. The other services rendered at this state-of-the-art hospital include psychology, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Al Masarra Hospital is a training center for various categories, such as resident doctors enrolled in the Oman Medical Specialties Board (OMSB), medical students at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), and nursing students from different colleges and institutions.
