Events to mark the World Creativity and Innovation Day, which is observed annually on April 21, began today (Tuesday) at the Ministry of Health's headquarters under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Saeed bin Harib Al Lamki, Ministry’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, and attended by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al Mandhari, Ministry’s Undersecretary for Health Planning and Regulation, along with a number of directors general, officials, and ministry staff.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Health, represented by the Health Innovations laboratory at the National Health Research Center, saw the participation of a group of specialists and enthusiasts in the fields of health innovation and entrepreneurship.
The two-day event reflects the Ministry of Health's efforts to embed innovation as an institutional approach and to support the adoption of innovative solutions that contribute to the development of health services and the improvement of care quality, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The first day of the event featured an exhibition of health innovations showcasing a number of distinguished projects, including winning innovations from the "Ejada" system's Innovative Employee track, alongside innovations from emerging companies, with the aim to highlight the efforts of national teams and stimulate an innovation-friendly environment within the health sector.
The event further included a series of panel discussions and awareness lectures in the Innovation Hall, covering topics such as health innovation and entrepreneurship, the role of modern technologies in transforming ideas into successful projects, as well as a lecture on artificial intelligence tools and presentations of innovative experiences, most notably solutions for predicting epileptic seizures using modern technologies.
The event will continue into its second day with several specialized sessions, including design thinking, intellectual property, and building an environment conducive to institutional innovation.
Through this event, the Ministry of Health reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting innovation, empowering national competencies, and strengthening partnerships with various stakeholders, all of which contribute to the development of a sustainable, knowledge-based, and technology-driven health system.
