The Ministry of Health (MOH) today (Wednesday) commenced the First Human Resources Forum under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al Sabti, Minister of Health, with the presence of the Ministry’s undersecretaries at Wyndham Garden Muscat.
The two-day forum is organized by the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Human Resources, and gathers human resources officials and specialists from the Ministry’s headquarters and Directorate Generals of Health Services across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Forum discusses several key issues, most notably aligning the mandates of human resources departments between the Ministry’s Headquarters and the governorates’ Directorates of Health Services, and enhancing institutional integration and coordination to support operational efficiency. The program also reviews the concept of human resources management in light of the Ministry’s new organizational structure, mechanisms to strengthen participation in its implementation, and the exchange of expertise and experiences among specialists. These efforts aim to unify the understanding of policies, procedures, and implementation mechanisms across various health institutions.
The Forum also addresses institutional excellence indicators and mechanisms for measuring and monitoring them, to enhance performance levels and support the Ministry’s efforts to achieve its strategic objectives and develop national competencies within the health sector.
The organization of this Forum is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to develop the human resources system and strengthen institutional integration among various administrative units, thereby improving performance efficiency and achieving institutional objectives in line with modern administrative best practices.
The Forum aims to reinforce the Ministry of Health’s vision of building an integrated and effective human resources system centered on human capital development as the cornerstone for advancing healthcare services. It also seeks to enhance coordination among relevant entities to ensure sustainable institutional excellence and improved quality of performance.
The Forum reflects the Ministry of Health’s commitment to investing in human capital, enhancing the readiness of national cadres, and strengthening performance alignment across various health sectors, ultimately supporting the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
