The Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Quality Assurance Centre, has achieved an international milestone by renewing its partnership and official designation as a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre in the Eastern Mediterranean Region for Quality and Patient Safety Training for the third cycle, 2026–2030. The renewal follows the Centre’s successful fulfilment of all technical and administrative criteria approved by the WHO, with the partnership continuing for a four-year cycle.

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Training in Oman is the first WHO Collaborating Centre dedicated to quality and patient safety in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. This renewal marks the Centre’s third consecutive designation since the beginning of its first cycle in 2018.

The renewal represents international recognition of the capabilities of Oman’s national cadres and reinforces the strategic partnership aimed at strengthening healthcare systems in line with the Region’s plans and priorities for capacity building and the transfer of expertise to Member States.
